Egyptian Day! November 2024
We kickstarted our learning with a fantastic visit from ‘Neil the Time Traveller’!
We looked at many ancient artifacts, sketched canopic jars, discussed the importance of Pharaohs, became archaeologists by piecing together ancient pottery and looked at the mummification process.
Stone Age Day!
We had a great day learning about Stone Age. We made woolly mammoths, clay round houses and our own cave paintings.
Maths, place value -
We have been working really hard in identifying hundreds, tens and ones. Many of our maths lessons involve us using manipulatives to help us solve questions such as dienes, counters, place value charts and 100 squares. Positivity week -
At the start of the year, we answered the question 'How can I turn negative emotions into a positive?' We discussed feelings, what we are positive about and created a poem on things that make me feel. Take a look at some of our work.
Lights on Cotton Rock -
Over the last couple of weeks, we have created wonderful writing based on the book Lights on Cotton Rock. We have looked at lots of different genres, including a letter, diary and a newspaper article.
