St Michael's Academy Homepage

At St Michael's, we are proud to be a school where every child is valued, nurtured and inspired to achieve their very best.

Our holistic approach ensures that pupils thrive academically, socially, creatively and spiritually. Education here is about developing the whole child, fostering confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of learning.

Our pupils continue to demonstrate exceptional achievement with outcomes significantly above national averages across all subjects. In reading, 91% of pupils achieved the expected standard compared to 75% nationally, with an impressive 45% reaching greater depth. Writing and maths results were equally strong, with 86% and 89% of pupils respectively meeting the expected standard, far exceeding national figures. Outstanding attainment is particularly evident for disadvantaged pupils, with 96% achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and maths. A truly remarkable feat, and one that the school is immensely proud of.

Beyond the classroom, St Michael's Academy provides a rich and varied programme of enrichment opportunities that inspire pupils and broaden their horizons. Our pupils are proud to take part in the nationally renowned Young Voices choir, performing alongside thousands of children in major arena concerts, while St Michael's University offers exciting opportunities for pupils to develop their knowledge, skills and aspirations through a wide range of specialist learning experiences. The school has a strong tradition of sporting excellence, with pupils regularly competing and succeeding in a wide range of local and regional competitions, promoting teamwork, resilience and healthy lifestyles. A diverse programme of educational visits, residentials, cultural experiences and enrichment activities further enhances the curriculum, creating memorable experiences that build confidence, ambition and a lifelong love of learning.

Visitors often comment on the warmth and kindness of our pupils, their confidence when speaking and their respect for diversity. Wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, and our children leave St Michael's prepared for the next stage of education and life beyond school.

We invite you to discover more about our vibrant community, where pupils are proud of their school, their teachers and, most importantly, themselves.
