Welcome to St Michael's Academy

A very warm welcome to the St Michael’s Academy website.

Our school has 11 classes with 3 classes in each year group including a joint year 3/4 class. We are extremely proud of our caring and supportive school community where we celebrate and develop the wide and varied skills and interests of our children through a broad and balanced curriculum. We value each child’s potential whether that be academic, creative, sporting or social.

Here at St Michael’s our mission is to develop personal fulfilment within all our pupils so that they continue their lives with determination, self-esteem, initiative and pride. We are aspiring to improve things for all of our children, our staff and the community and ensure that all children leave St Michael’s as prepared as they can possibly be for their next steps in education and the wider world.  To this end, St Michael's offers a rich, diverse and balanced curriculum that is built around the acquisition of skills and knowledge.

We have developed our own set of Core Values and Better Learner Skills - known around school as our Super Learning Powers - that permeate through everything we say and do. It is these values and skills that form the bedrock to our curriculum upon which children build their knowledge and learning.

The staff, governors and friends of the school work closely in partnership with pupils and parents to provide the best learning environment.  We are committed to reaching the highest standards of achievement and behaviour in a happy and safe atmosphere.
